The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) will be holding a virtual book launch of the “AANR Compendium of Experts” on 13 December 2021.

The AANR Compendium of Experts will be launched on 13 December 2021 during the first day of WACAS 2.0 via the DOST-TAPI Facebook page and virtual platforms

The launching is part of the Week-Long Accomplishment and Culminating Activity of Special Projects (WACAS) 2.0 in celebration of the first-year implementation of the Level-up Assistance Project for the Commercialization of Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Technologies (LEAP-AANR).

The LEAP-AANR Project is funded by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) and implemented by DOST-TAPI.

It was created to support startups, spin-offs, and incubatees of the DOST-PCAARRD National Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubators (TBI) Program.

Through the LEAP-AANR’s support, it strengthens the financial capacity of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) pursuant to the Philippine Innovation Act and Innovative Startup Act.

Meanwhile, the AANR Compendium of Experts recognizes the invaluable contributions of various agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) experts from government agencies, industry, and academe.

It serves as a reference, not just for DOST-TAPI and DOST-PCAARRD, but for the whole DOST system should the need for AANR-related experts arise.

DOST-TAPI, in its unwavering effort to assist technology generators, inventors, and researchers, provides venture financing and seed capital funds to new and emerging technologies.

Although the LEAP-AANR comes to an unanticipated halt after its first year of implementation, the Project was able to provide technical, marketing, and financial recommendations to 11 spinoffs and startups, responsible for improving their current operations.

The WACAS 2.0 will be held virtually on 13-20 December 2021.
