Congratulations to the winners of the 2016 National Invention Contest!

The bi-annual National Invention Contest and Exhibits spearheaded by the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) concluded last 31 July 2016 at SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.  The National Invention Contest unravelled the Filipino’s innovative creativity and ability in generating functional products/processes that not only make life convenient and easy, but more importantly, help spur country’s economic development.  The contest recognized the hard work and efforts of the inventors and researchers including the students.

From the 1,396 participating entries received across the regions that participated in the 2015 Regional Invention Contests, 72 entries were declared regional winners cum national qualifiers of the 2016 National Invention Contest of which 17 entries emerged as national winners.  The Board of Judges announced the winners for the five (6) categories of the National Invention Contest during the Awarding Ceremony last 31 July 2016. The winning inventions and researches received Certificate of Recognition, Plaque and cash award.  In addition the grand winner for Outstanding Invention (Tuklas) was awarded a prestigious World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Gold Medal and for the Outstanding Utility Model and Outstanding Industrial Design were given WIPO Plaques.  They are the following:
