DOST TAPI holds its second Gawad Alunig x Dalumat Science Journalism Contest

DOST-TAPI launched Gawad Alunig x Dalumat, a Science Journalism Competition, to inspire students and other aspiring writers and broadcasters to showcase their talent by sharing science stories and highlighting innovation in the Philippines.

The winners will receive cash prizes! The awards ceremony will take place in Pasay City, Philippines, in October of this year, at the National Youth Science Technology Innovation Festival (NYSTIF).

Stories of science innovation that are highlighted at Gawad Alunig x Dalumat may be eligible for clusteRICE, a national program run by the Department of Science and Technology's Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI). This program's major goal is to honor Filipino innovators' hard work and talent in the context of Philippine society and the country's economic growth.

This year's invention competition is open to researchers and inventors from the public and private sectors who are located in the cluster of the National Capital Region, Southern Luzon, Northern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Gawad Alunig x Dalumat entry deadline has been extended to July 31, 2023, at 5 p.m. Join the Gawad Alunig x Dalumat! Who knows? Your stories of innovation might be eligible for CLUSTERICE, too!

More details about the Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE) will be posted on DOSTI-TAPI's facebook account! Stay tuned!
