PASAY CITY – The Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), held a grand celebration marking its 37th founding anniversary at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City on January 30, 2024. The event brought together a diverse assembly of esteemed personalities, DOST officials, representatives from various government agencies, innovation champions, inventors, media, and stakeholders,  creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonated with the institute's rich legacy of technological movement.



With this year’s theme, TAPI at 37: Defying Boundaries, Celebrating Victories and Sharing the Glory in Making History, the anniversary festivities drew an impressive gathering of attendees, an extravagant energy given by the performers and the highlighting of DOST-TAPI’s 2023 milestones made the event enthralling and meaningful. 




During her opening remarks, Atty. Marion Ivy Decena, director of DOST-TAPI highlights her gratitude to all the partners and stakeholders who contributed to the 37-year journey of the institute. She also affirms to uphold and strengthen their mandates and initiatives that will impact the socio-economic growth of the nation. 



In his inspirational message, DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr., congratulate the institution for reaching its 37th year of excellence and its contribution to the engendering innovation and entrepreneurship. “To the men and women of DOST-TAPI, I salute you for your dedication and hard work. Together, as “OneDOSTforYou,” let us continue to bring explicit solutions of science, technology, and innovation toward national development”, the DOST Secretary added.



The Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services, Ms. Maridon O. Sahagun also gave her message of support, implying her gratitude to DOST-TAPI as it has been always at the forefront of harnessing the power of technology by connecting research and development and commercialization to drive useful impact in various sectors.

One of the highlights of the event is the presentation of the DOST-TAPI 2023 Accomplishment Report by the Planning Unit Head, Ms. Janice Cornel, which summarizes the activities, achieved physical and performance targets, awards obtained, and milestones of the agency in the year 2023. It was right after the presentation of the accomplishment report, the launching of the new institutional video for DOST-TAPI.

In acknowledgment of the outstanding contributions made by the innovation champions pivotal to the institution's remarkable performance, a brief yet meaningful ceremony was conducted to honor the Champions of Change. This recognition ceremony serves to highlight and express gratitude to those individuals whose innovative efforts significantly contributed to the institution's success.

The ceremony was then followed by the recognition of outstanding employees and members of DOST-TAPI with their accomplishments and work ethics which had a significant impact on the efficiency of the institution’s service. 

As the event unfolded, the attendees found themselves immersed in a captivating array of presentations, exhibits, and interactive sessions showcasing the institute's groundbreaking contributions to science and technology. The atmosphere was one of inspiration and pride as participants delved into the achievements and advancements that have defined DOST-TAPI's remarkable journey. The palpable enthusiasm and sense of camaraderie among the attendees underscored the collective commitment to fostering innovation and technology transfer for the betterment of society.

Mr. Caesar Angelito Arceo, Division Chief of the Invention Development Division and the overall chairman of TAPI’s 37th Anniversary celebration, concluded the event by congratulating the team behind the successful celebration and extending his gratitude to all the attendees who dedicated their precious time to share and revel in this momentous event.
